How did Red Tie Gala get started?
Here you will find a little bit of history about how this fundraiser got started and why it's an important event in your community. The Red Tie Gala is organized by Celebration on the Lake Church. The church uses funds raised from this event to help many local area organizations and groups.
Around the years of 2012 through 2014, a group of spirited young adults in the church had a spark of inspiration. They wanted to do something extraordinary for their fellow church members to celebrate the season of love – Valentine's Day. But why stop there? They also had their eyes set on raising funds for the young adult program within the church. And thus, the first Red Tie evening was born. That first event was the seed that has now spouted into what is The Red Tie Gala today!
A few years drifted by, and the Red Tie Celebration took a brief hiatus, however, in 2018 it made a triumphant return. The essence remained the same – a night filled with fun, fellowship, dancing, and a delightful dinner for the LGBTQ+ community and allies while raising funds for the community at large.
The year 2018 saw the church bursting at the seams with enthusiastic attendees, prompting the Red Tie committee to dream even bigger. Thus, the Red Tie Gala found a grander home at the CR Legacy Event Center, where it has continued to flourish and continue its mission.
The mission to provide the LGBTQ+ community and their allies a haven of joy and connection through a Valentine event while raising funds to help support the Cedar Creek Lake area community. Thanks to the incredible generosity of donors over the years, our small church has been able to give back an average of $12,000 per year. These funds have touched the lives of individuals, families, and numerous organizations in the Cedar Creek Lake area, supporting both our people and their beloved pets.
And so, the Red Tie Gala story continues, a testament to the power of love, unity, and the extraordinary impact a small group can have on the world. 🌈❤️
